About Michael Wright
Michael Wright has decades of experience in crafting successful grant proposals and helping researchers partner with industry. His proposals have secured over $55 million in federal, state and foundation support, including major multi-institutional center grants. He has deep experience in helping research teams engage with industry and secure commitments of support for projects and programs. As a former economic development practitioner, he has managed business retention and expansion programs and organized technology-based economic development initiatives. His background includes nearly 40 years of experience in university research development, academic-industry collaboration, engineering professional development, and local economic development. Michael Wright holds a B.S. in Urban and Environmental Studies and a Master of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University, and is a member of the National Organization of Research Development Professionals (NORDP).
